Directive (EU) 2024/825 · greenwashing rules
The EU's unfair-practices blacklist now bans generic environmental claims without recognised excellence proof, offset-based carbon neutrality, whole-product claims true of one aspect, and uncertified sustainability labels — in all circumstances. Most brands find out from an enforcement letter.
What the dossier covers
The blacklist
No wording fixes a banned shape — it has to be replaced with a specific, provable claim. That is exactly what the dossier drafts.
"Eco-friendly", "green", "natural", "biodegradable" — banned without demonstrated recognised excellent environmental performance.
"Carbon neutral through certified projects" — banned in all circumstances. No wording fixes this shape.
In-house sustainability badges not backed by a certification scheme or public authority — banned.
"A better bottle for the planet" when only the cap changed — banned in all circumstances.
"Net zero by 2040" without a published, independently verified implementation plan — a misleading practice, assessed case by case.
What arrives
Every line in the panel is a deliverable named on this page. The animation shows the assembly order; your questionnaire answers replace the sample.

What the dossier contains
Free scanners find banned words. The dossier is what you show when a regulator, a retailer or a journalist asks for proof.
Each claim you make — pack, website, ads — gets a verdict (banned / high risk / needs substantiation / lower risk), the exact rules engaged, and the generic terms our scanner found in your actual wording.
For every flagged claim: the specific, measurable wording that keeps the selling point without the banned shape — "73% recycled aluminium, verified" instead of "eco-friendly".
The substantiation checklist and the dated register that proves you had evidence when the claim shipped — the document an enforcement query asks for first.

One-off
Kept current
Pilot guarantee: if your dossier doesn't surface at least three claim-level risks specific to your wording, you don't pay. The alternative: a legal review of your claims portfolio (four figures, weeks) — against the UCPD penalty regime reaching 4% of annual turnover for widespread infringements. Figures from the directives; not our quotes.
Card payments are taken by Stripe on its secure checkout page — this site stores no payment details. Pay by card now (€490, refunded in full if the pack does not surface at least three gaps specific to your company), or by invoice after scoping with nothing owed until your order is confirmed in writing. Our solicitor's pre-launch review is ongoing; its wording lands on these pages the day it arrives.
Honest limits
Stated here rather than in the small print — a claims-review product that overclaimed would be its own punchline.
ClaimProof produces an internal review dossier: risk classifications, rewrite guidance and an evidence register built from the claims and answers you supply. It is not legal advice.
It does not clear any claim for publication — claims we mark BANNED or HIGH RISK should go to a qualified lawyer before use.
What we do is the part nobody has time for: reading every claim you make against the new blacklist, before an enforcer does.
